Awhi Muka

This kete whakairo has been created using fresh harakeke (flax) harvested from Maketu in the sunny Bay of Plenty. Awhi Muka speaks to the gentle embrace of muka, each twisted fibre added with care and intention. The soft miro strands wrap the kete in a sense of warmth and aroha, honouring the nurturing qualities of harakeke and the hands that wove it. This kete also has muka kiwai (handles).
