This piece is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Maketu in the sunny Bay of Plenty. It is created from fresh whenu. The particularly rustic look is exemplified in its name; Pūhungahunga, meaning 'imperfect'. The whenu will continue to lighten as it dries.
