Tōrikiriki

This kete whakairo has been created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Patiti Point in Timaru. The flax has been boiled and dyed to preserve it and has been created in the style of takitahi with a checkered effect. The colours used are mid brown and forest green. Tōrikiriki is simply in reference to the idea of ‘to be small’.

This piece is currently on display at the Karaka Kitchen.
