This framed tauira is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Omaka in Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled to preserve it and dyed brown. It was saved from the off-cuts of a kete. Pūrua basically means 'doubling up' - where these two tauira are simply reflections of each other!
