This framed tauira is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from the Taylor River in Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled and dyed (forest green) to preserve it, and was saved from the off-cuts of a kete. Poro means to be cut off or be trimmed, and Kakariki refers to the colour green. A raw weave, which in its simplicity is beautiful. This piece is displayed in a bronze colour frame.
