This framed tauira is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from the Taylor River in Waiharakeke/Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled and dyed (orange) to preserve it, and was saved from the off-cuts of a kete. Kotahi Karaka is reflective of its symbolic reference to unity.
