This framed tauira is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Omaka in Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled to preserve it and was saved from the off-cuts of a kete. Manako is to desire or wish for something and is representative of the artists desire to continue to nurture her skills in the art of raranga.
This piece is displayed in an elegant Citta frame.
