Ngā Ara Honohono

This kete whakairo has been created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Koutu on the shores of Lake Rotorua. The flax has been boiled and some of it dyed (forest green) to preserve it. The interconnecting pathways are reflected in the crossing strands, where natural tones blend with the green. Each strand contributes to a greater whole, creating a pattern that speaks of connection, unity and the pathways that bring us together.
