Kura

This kete whakairo has been created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Te Kāreti Kōhine o Wairau/Marlborough Girls’ College in Blenheim. The flax has been boiled and dyed to preserve it and has been created in the style of takitahi with diagonal bands. The colour used was mid brown. Kura refers to the place that the harakeke was harvested from, but also in reference to a place of learning.
