This piece is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Nanny Mariao Wihapi’s Pā Harakeke in Waitangi, Te Puke. The harakeke has been boiled to preserve it. Kākano Whakauru refers to the numerous colours in the flax which have come together to form this beautiful art piece.
