Whakahou

Created from fresh whenu harvested in Te Puke, Whakahou speaks to the transformation of materials that might otherwise have been discarded due to their imperfection. Through weaving, these imperfect whenu have been given new purpose and a renewed life.

The takirua woven through the centre represents connection and continuity, bringing strength and movement to the piece.

Whakahou is a reminder that what is damaged or overlooked can still hold beauty, purpose and potential for renewal.
