Ngā Aho Ngaru

This piece is created using fresh harakeke harvested from Koutu on the shores of Lake Rotorua and was woven during Matariki. The whakanihoniho pattern runs through the body of work, while the sculpted form rises and falls in gentle waves inspired by the movement of the water beside which it lives. Representing growth, connection, and continuity, the pattern also connects to the spirit of Matariki as a time to remember the past, celebrate the present, and look ahead.
