This framed tauira is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Omaka in Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled to preserve it and was saved from the off-cuts of a kete. Takoha simply means 'a gift'; something that Papatūānuku (Earth Mother) gives to us every day.
