Ka Whatu Ka Wehe

Wide whenu are woven, then split part way through the weave, becoming finer and more fluid. The work speaks to transformation without loss — separation that remains connected.
The harakeke was harvested from Koutu, on the shores of Lake Rotorua, grounding the piece in place and whakapapa.
