This piece is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from both Omaka and Waikawa in Marlborough. The whenu from Waikawa has been boiled to preserve it, while the whenu from Omaka was used fresh. Harakeke e Rua refers to the two separate types of flax joining together in this one piece.
