This piece is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from the Taylor River in Blenheim. The whenu has been boiled to preserve it and dyed (black). Puāwai means 'to come to fruition', as the harakeke transforms from its natural state to a work of art. Puāwai can be viewed in ahu boutique, Wellington.
