This framed tauira is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from the Taylor River in Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled to preserve it and was saved from the off-cuts of a kete. Whakamārie speaks of calmness - much like the Taylor River which moves at a peaceful pace.
