This piece is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from the Taylor River in Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled and dyed (blue) to preserve it. Te Wairua o Tangaroa refers to the many and varied hues of blue this piece has taken on - a definite coastal vibe.
