This piece is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from the Taylor River in Blenheim. The whenu has been boiled to preserve it. Whakawhitiwhiti simply means to alternate or swap, as it can be hung on either side. Whakawhitiwhiti is woven using 5mm strands, adding to its delicate beauty.
