This framed tauira is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Te Kāreti Kōhine o Wairau/Marlborough Girls' College in Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled to preserve it. Whakaoranga means to restore, and this piece demonstrates this idea by presenting it in a recycled frame and using the off-cuts of a kete. The frame has some marks on it, but this ultimately adds to the character of the piece.
