He Kākano

Using whenu harvested from Koutu on the shores of Lake Rotorua and dyed mid brown, He Kākano is stunning; a piece that could be used as a kete, or even toi/art that could be hung in your home. Every weaving journey begins with a single lesson. This kete represents the seed of knowledge that, through practice, patience and guidance, continues to grow. Woven using the traditional whiri technique, it honours the enduring tradition of learning through doing.
