This framed tauira is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Omaka in Blenheim. The harakeke has been boiled to preserve it and was saved from the off-cuts of a kete. Ako means ‘to learn’ and this piece demonstrates the learning that has been acquired at Omaka Marae throughout 2022.
